Dr. Philip Zimbardo Talks About Young Men Watching Too Much Porn in 2011

In Dr. Philip Zimbardo’s 2011 Ted Talk in Long Beach, California, he talks about “the demise of guys” and young men “flaming out” academically, as well as “wiping out socially with girls and sexually with women.”

According to Dr. Zimbardo, this “fear of intimacy” is caused by “excessive internet use in general, excessive video gaming,” and “excessive new access to pornography.”

He went on to say that the average boy “watches 50 porn video clips a week.” “Boys brains are being digitally rewired,” he continued, “in a totally new way for change, novelty, excitement and constant arousal. That means they’re totally out of sync in traditional classes… and romantic relationships, which build gradually and subtly.”

“What’s the solution?” he asks. “Not my job. I am here to alarm you.” Well, we have The Solution here at The Third Talk®! And it works. It’s up to parents and we are here to help you have this difficult conversation, that we have now made very easy.
